| DanceSport has been popularized rapidly since it came into China from the middle of the 80th. It has been deeply favored by college students after it was offered in physical Education classes of higher school in the middle of the 90th.At present,many colleges and universities in Chongqing have set the subject of dancesport as an elective physical education course.In some major universities,this project has already been a didactical content since the year 1990.Through the development of more than ten years it has spread over half of the campus in our country now,and the rank of dancesport lecturers has kept growing.In order to promote dancesport curriculum of the colleges and universities in Chongqing,this article has analyzed and investigated the curriculum's present statement comprehensively to define its function in quality education and provide valuable foundation for its ditactical reform.In this paper,the author has studied the present situation of the dancesport curriculum by analyzing data,interviewing,questionnaire survey and applying mathematical statistics,thus found the major problem exist in the following aspects:1) Although the dancesport education in colleges and universities has become a popular curriculum,the popularization is still not wide enough.Among all the colleges and universities in Chongqing,the dancesport program is mainly set up in 15 undergraduate institutions,of which 11 universites have set up the curriculum,including 2 major universities.But among the 23 technological academies,only 5 of them have opened the curriculum.The dancesport curriculum has not been fully popularized in Chongqing.2) Most dancesport lecturers in Chongqing are originally engaged in the gymnastics,artistic gymnastics,aerobics or other professional work of teaching,which could mean that they are relatively unprofessional.3)Lacking uniform guidance and didactical design have led to disorder in teaching. 4) Most campus lack space and facilities for dancesport curriculum because of attaching no importance to it or lacking fund,it has lagged behind the development of the curriculum.Single means of teaching and relatively old didactical content has made certain influence on the curriculum, too.5) Scientific research of dancesport is weak,dancers seldom have chance to study high-level theoretical publications about dancesport.Moreover,the dancesport lecturers generally emphasize more on skill training but ignore the scientific research of theories,it has seriously hindered the improvement of technique and scientific research of dancesport.6) Factors which influence the development of dancesport are various.The main factors include sex proportion in students,teaching hours,the space and facilities,the allocation of fund,Students' knowledge and interest,the quality of teachers,the attitude and leadership,management and promotion of the Ministry of Physical Education and so on.This paper has put forward major countermeasures for sustainable development of dancesport curriculum in Chongqing:1) Enhance formulating and implementing related policies,establish organizational management agencies of dancesport.2) The administration of physical education in colleges and universities should tap the existing resources,devote more space and facilities,distribute more fund to improve the didactical condition, meet the learning desire of students,keep pace with times.3) To strengthen the capabilities of the ranks of teachers,consummate teacher training system and didactical quality.4) Active collaboration among colleges and universities should be done under the guidance of relevant departments to compile teaching materials and a uniform outline of teaching.5) Disseminate progressive conceptions and abandon dated ones,thus to enhance dancing culture on campus.6) Actualize the elective PE class of dancesport and establish sports clubs in the form of association.7) Establish national dancesport association of colleges and universities,constitute competition rules of dancesport for students.
