On the basis of literature review,open questionnaire and interview,this research raises a theoretical concept of parent-child reading and makes a questionnaire on that.By preliminary survey and relative statistical analysis,a formal questionnaire with acceptable reliability and validity is formed.Making use of the "Questionnaire on Parent-child Reading" to children's parents from certain key kindergartens in Chongqing,this research have collected 213 valid questionnaires. The research findings are as follows:(1) The questionnaire on parent-child reading has acceptable reliability and validity and is qualified to measure the features of parent-child reading.The parent-child reading consists of four dimensions:the desire of parent-child reading,the objective of parent-child reading,the requirement of parent-child reading,and the communication of parent-child reading.The practical model,on the whole,matches the theoretical model.(2) The scores of parent-child reading different dimensionalities rank high to low are:the communication of parent-child reading,the desire of parent-child reading,the objective of parent-child reading,and the requirement of parent-child reading.(3) The scores of parents of different gender in parent-child reading each dimensionalities are almost in accordance.The scores of male parents of parent-child reading are lower than that of female parents as a whole,but the difference is not remarkable.There is remarkable difference in communication of parent-child reading between parents genders,and in the dimension of the communication of parent-child reading,the male parents are remarkable inferior to the female parents.(4) The scores of parents of different child's gender in parent-child reading each dimensionalities are almost in accordance.There is remarkable difference in desire of parent-child reading between child's genders,Boy's parents are noticeably more willing to do parent-child reading than girl's parents. (5) The scores of parents of different child's ages in parent-child reading each dimensionalities are vary.There is remarkable difference in communication of parent-child reading between child's ages,Parents with children between 3-year-old to 5-year-old have a noticeably higher communication of parent-child reading than parents with children between 6-year-old to 7-year-old.(6) Parents' gender,age,occupation,and child's gender and age have a noticeably mutual influence in parent-child reading each dimensionalities.
