During recent years,developing children’s preschool abilities draws more and more attention from parents as the result of the fast development of preschool education.Because of the essentiality of preschool reading,more studies have been conducted into the most effective way of cultivate this ability,parent-child reading.The advantages of parent-child reading includes deriving children’s interest in reading,strengthening their reading habit and fortified their linguistic competence,while closing the relationship between parents and children.However,obstacles remain—especially in rural areas of China,the parents there incomprehend or deviate the concept of parent-child reading or do not know how to practice it.Basing on The survey of Shared Reading Intervention In Zhanyi District funded by the World Bank,This study selects six families from Kindergarten A of Zhanyi B County and takes part in their daily life to guide them about parent-child reading,collecting research materials by interviewing family members,observing and recording the daily activities.By studying the early stage interview materials,this study finds out the following problems: parent only possess outdated reading concepts,provide undesirable reading situation and lack of scientific guidance for parent-child reading.Meanwhile,their children are insufficient of reading interests,good reading habits and reading abilities.After analyzing the causes of above problems,this study makes a three-stage program: the first stage,enduing the knowledge of parent-child reading;the second stage,teaching the correct methods and setting examples for the families in their daily life;the third stage,gathering all six families to share and teach their reading experience with each other so that they make more progress in parent-child reading.After this field guidance,all six mothers are able to practice this reading method more correctly,while six children show significant achievement in their reading and linguistic competence,resulting a more intimate parent-child relationship.After this field guidance,all six mothers are able to practice this reading method more correctly,while six children show significantachievement in their reading and linguistic competence,resulting a more intimate parent-child relationship. |
