Postmodemism,stemmed from western countries in mid-19th century,is a philosophical thought to carry out criticism and transcendence against the rationalistic thinking mode of modem Western philosophy.Post-modemistic student view is the application of post-modernistic philosophic thinking mode in education field.Based on the standpoint of post-modernistic humanism and its viewpoints of anti-dualism, de-center,anti-authority and anti-identity as well as deny-objectivity of knowledge,the post-modernistic student view claims to focus on the requirements of students' self-development and emphasize on students' initiative and individuality.To some extent,the post-modernistic student view has played a positive role in eliminating the maladies that ignore students' existence in traditional education,for instance,it is beneficial to eliminate the education viewpoint that unilaterally emphasizes on the requirements of social development;it is beneficial to get rid of influence from the teacher-centered orientation;it is beneficial to remove teachers' extremely one-sided teaching method;and it is beneficial to dispel the phenomenon of ignoring students' individuality.Owing to the extremism orientation(humanism tendency,absolute negative, extreme individualism tendency) that the post-modernistic philosophic thought as well as its corresponding education view has,when we are criticizing the maladies of traditional education,we often overdo and approach another extreme.For instance,the excessive focus on students' self-development cuts off the unification between students' development and social development;the extreme emphasis on students' initiative ignores teachers' dominant factor;the exorbitant concentration on student's self-access learning spurns reception learning that reduces learning efficiency;the overemphasis on students' individual experience and contempt for objective knowledge learning weaken the foundation of students' development.In view of extreme tendency of post-modernistic student view,it is necessary for us to hold cautious attitude against the post-modernism,to reject blind "bring-it-here-ism".We should,according to the current educational reality and national situation that our country are being in the process of modernization construction,insist on continuously to take Marxist education thought as guidance and regard teaching epistemology as the theoretical foundation of basic education reform to transcend the post-modernism and its student view,to eliminate its extremism conceptions and to absorb courageously the positive conceptions to build up a correct student view so as to promote the basic education reform inour country.
