Postmodernism is a cultural ideological trend which appeared in the western advanced capitalist countries since 1960s. It has involved in the field of philosophy,sociology,aesthetics,art and religion. Education, as a cross subject, has been influenced greatly. As the same of post-modern philosophical thought, post-modern educational thoughts adopt a critical attitude to survey the weakness of the present education, and provide present education a new frame based on the reflection. My dissertation is about the analysis of the view of teacher under postmodern perspective,it re-analysises the questions of"the authority of the teacher","the function of the teacher","the quality of the teacher"and"the relationship between the teacher and students". It is hoped that I can get a full interpretation,pertinent comment of the view of teacher under postmodern perspective,which is based on deep excavation and serious thoughts of its rationality and weakness. Then , it will enlighten the present education.The dissertation is composed of four parts. The first part is the introduction which includes why such a topic is chosen, its theory background,research method and innovation. The second part is about introducing the idea of postmodernism, which includes its time background,source of theory,definition and so on. At the same time, I also introduce the main idea of post-modern educational thoughts. The third part is the main body of the dissertation, which re-composite the present"the authority of the teacher","the function of the teacher","the quality of the teacher"and"the relationship between the teacher and students"by post-modern thoughts. This part compares the differences of the view of teacher in the aspects of ancient times,present times and post-modern times. The fourth part is the conclusion. It deals with the rationality and weakness of post-modern view of the teacher through dialectical thinking.
