The Study On The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Home And Guest Court In National Volleyball League

For the promotion of volleyball's professionalization and socialization,National Work Conference on Volleyball was held in December 1996,which set a basic principle that take the reform of the system of club match as breakthrough point,and lead a comprehensive reform continued.One feature of the implementation of the home and away match basis is that the subjective and objective factors of the home and away can suspense the result of matches,and increase the chanciness of the winning and losing. Generally,home team winning rate is higher than that of guest team.Many people are concerned of the obvious differential phenomenon of the match results,which due to different venues defined by the match basis.One of the earliest research team is led by Schwaebische,they find evidence of the existence of the home effect.The figures of Home and Away winning rate on 8 seasons of the National Volleyball League showed the fact that there are home advantage and away disadvantage.Further analysis of the Home and Away winning rate of every team in each season sees the living of the Home advantage and Away disadvantage as well.Therefore,the author analyzed the main factors that affected the Home and Away advantages and disadvantages of the National Volleyball League,at the basis of previous studies,from the point of spectators,venues, the media,transport,geography and climate,referees,and coaches.All of the study is did in the hope that the results are of benefit to athletes and coaches in better using of Home advantages,in reducing Away disadvantages,and in exerting positive advantages to overcome disadvantages.Documents and materials,expert interviews,questionnaire surveys,and methods such as logical analysis are used in this study,follows are the major conclusions:1.There are Home advantages and Away disadvantages in National Volleyball League.Further analysis of the Home and Away winning rate of every team in each season saw the living of the Home advantage and Away disadvantage as well.2.Home advantages are affected mainly by spectators;coaches,venues and equipments,referees,the media,and other factors.3.Home disadvantages are mainly affected by coaches,referees,spectators,and other factors. 4.Away advantages are affected mainly by coaches,spectators,referees,venues and equipments,the media,and other factors.5.Away disadvantages are mainly affected by referees,coaches,spectators,venues and equipments,and other factors.6.There are psychological differences existing in athletes in Home and Away match.The home athletes' degree of confidence to win and psychological stability is higher than that of the Away athletes,and is lower in degree of attentiveness and mental fatigue during game.
