On The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Hierarchical Teaching

These days, as the increasing enrollment of high school, the vocational schools are facing a challenge for developing, existing and even surviving. It is embodied that the qualification of the recruitments is decreasing and the gap of level between students is widening. These new problem needs our solving. The students in the same class have different levels on their performance and the difference is evident. But in our teaching, the teacher gives lecture according to the same teaching plan, evaluate the students according to the same standard, which leads to the fact that some of the students "could not digest while others feel unable to eat full". (Some students feel the class easy while others feel difficult.) It is hard for teachers to ensure the good teaching effects. Under the circumstances, grading in teaching is being tried in many vocational schools.Based in Beijing Foreign Trade School, with an eye to English teaching for grade 2003 of all the students, this paper lays the emphasis on the advantage and disadvantage of grading teaching by way of observation, questionnaire and interview. It also studies and analyses the effect of the grading teaching. It is found in the paper that, on one hand, the grading teaching in Beijing Foreign Trade School has a positive effect. But on the other hand, some effects need our speculating.The grading teaching is useful to meet different needs of the students, improve the students' level, promote the research of teachers. But at the same time, it also makes the students lack of models, more pressure in study, lower self-confidence and self-pride is also affected. After research and analysis, the paper results in the fact that in our school, the disadvantage is more than advantage in grading teaching. The grading teaching inside class can be tried.
