This paper took Chinese sanda coach's coaching ability and all the coaches who participated in the 2006 National Wushu sanda championship as the subject.Used means of literature,expert interview, questionnaire survey and statistics analysis to research on the structure of coaching ability and the present situation of coaching ability and other basic things,come to the following conclusions:1 Sanda coach's coaching ability means that the coach have to master any ability which is needed in guiding athlete training and competition and any ability has a great meaning to realize the goal of training and competition.The structure of coaching ability includes three-level total of 52 indicators including the ability of training, the ability of teaching,the ability of innovation,the ability of management,the ability of self-improvement,the ability of interpersonal coordination and the ability of research,and 44 third level indicators.2 The average age of the 33 coaches are 35.2±6.98 years,and 8.7±1.90 years of professional training,and 8±3.90 years of coaching experience.There are two coaches,who had got post-graduate degrees, and 26 coaches had got bachelor degrees and other 5 coaches had got specialist degrees.The coach's educational level has risen significantly.The secondary indicators of coaching ability in accordance with the score from high to low,could get the following order: the first one is the ability of training,the ability of management,the ability of innovation,the ability of teaching,the ability of self-improvement,the ability of interpersonal coordination and the ability of research is the last one.3 The overall situation of Chinese sanda coaches' coaching ability is "strong" Among the second level indicators the ability of training is the strongest score of 46.2,and the ability of research is relatively poor score of 21.6476.Among all the third level indicators the ability of oral exchange in English,the ability of using computer to aid training and the ability to read foreign materials are very poor,should be strengthened in extremely need.4 Our coaches are much more subjective than objective in coaching. Nearly 60%of coaches solve problems in training according to their own coaching experience.Only 16%of the coaches asked the researchers to find a solution of solve the problems meet in coaching.Suggestions:1 The structure of coaching established in this paper could be regarded as a reference for sanda coach's job training courses.It can also be used as quantitative evaluation of sanda coach's work by some relevant departments.2 From practical perspective,Sanda coaches should cooperate more with scientific and technological personnel,through the communication with the researchers to enhance their ability of research.The researchers should establish mutual trust between the coaches by their own efforts.3 The relevant department should appropriately increase the number of coach training class to meet the demand for continuous learning.Do not limited in high,middle and elementary styles.According to the actual situation of the coaches,try to develop various forms of training courses.
