should have quite quantity of accumulation and possess certain learning ability for ancient poems and essays. On basis of that, the students can embody the Chinese national spirit and develop certain traditional cultural connotation through it. Most of the ancient mountains-rivers prose describe mountains and water, rivers and lakes , woods and birds in teaching material, which contains rich traditional culture. These contents are intuition and image, or magnificent, or pretty, or obscure, or pure and fresh, which easily stimulates people's aesthetic appreciation experience and imagination . So the people prefer these prose in history. One of the best ways that the teachers teach the middle school students in values is by mountains-rivers prose teaching while they are growing up. This will be helpful for the students to inherit and develop excellent values in traditional culture and enhance moral character cultivation and aesthetic appreciation emotion . Thus, the students gradually cultivate correct values and positive attitude of human life.On the background of inheriting and developing excellent values in traditional culture, this thesis will discuss how to carry out modern interpretation to classical ancient mountains-rivers prose in modern junior-senior Chinese materials in order to teach the middle school students in values.In chaper one, the author states the change of the contemporary middle school students values and sees through the background of variety .On the basis, the rearcher prospects the developing direction of modern cultural basis values in order to grasp the new context of mordern interpretation to classical ancient mountains-rivers prose.In chaper two, the author mainly discusses the relationship between modern Chinese education and tradional cultural inheritance.On the one hand,the researcher lists and analyzes simply the trouble and problems between modern Chinese education and tradional culture,and further explains and accounts for modern interpretation to ancient mountains-rivers prose.On the other hand, the author gives a new explanation to the excellent values in classical ancient mountains-rivers prose's traditional culture in modern social middle school students.In chaper three, the author gives modern interpretation about eternal values and meanings of excellent values.The researcher mainly attempts two points of view: one is common circumstance in human beings in articles; the other is middle school tudents'emtion development and necessity.
