Research Of Teacher Education Practice Based On The SecondLife Virtual World

With The slogan of" Rejuvenate our country through science and education" putting forward,makes the teacher education particularly important.Because of our country with a vast territory,regional imbalances,limited investment in education and many other problems make our country's teacher education not achieving the desired results. With the development of the Internet,educators start a lot of exploration and experiment in distance education training.However,the teachers and students cannot conduct effectively emotional communication,so the effect of the distance education training model is not as ideal as expected. In 2002,the advent of SecondLife virtual world caused the world's attention.And with its continuous improvement,development and utilization have begun in various fields,including the field of education. Therefore,I am thinking of whether we can carry out teacher education in the SecondLife virtual world.So I began to research on the thesis.This article has been discussing the background and the characteristics of the virtual world,analyzing the problems in the current teacher education,introducing the SecondLife in brief as well as its application of the field of education,and then taking the situation education theory,constructivism and learning by Doing theory as the instruction,combined with the characteristics of teacher education.This article analyses the advantage of teacher education in the virtual world. Finally the author conducts the experimental study on teacher education in the virtual world with the aid of the SecondLife platform and uses the qualitative researches technique to carry on the analysis and summary of experiment's effect.Meanwhile after research conclusion,all the teachers who participate in training have carried on a questionnaire survey by e-mail for strengthening the reliability and validity of the research results.The results show that it is not only feasible,but also highly interactive,rich emotional experience,convenient and of rich resources by carrying on the teacher education in the SecondLife,virtual world.It provides a new platform for the development of teacher education. Therefore I hoped that this research can bring our country's teacher education new vitality,and promotes teacher education to develop healthily.
