How to improve the efficiency of classroom teaching, how to give the fullest play to the students' initiative and how to make the students willing to learn, eager to learn and able to learn have been a concern of the Chinese language educators. Turbulent curriculum reform is calling for improvement and innovation of the teaching model. Self-learning teaching model has a positive significance for students to get interested, to develop students' awareness of cooperation and spirit of exploration, to improve their communication skills and self-learning ability.This article starts from the main mode of teaching and deals with the development trend as well as the status of teaching high school language classes for specific analysis, self-learning teaching mode of existence and development. On this basis, it explores content and theoretical basis of the self-learning teaching mode and at the same time puts forward a number of teaching strategies of the self-learning teaching mode; namely, the creation of situation, the exchange of dialogue, the attempt to imitate, multi-media aids, and so on, trying to build a more flexible lively classroom teaching.
