With the changes of internal and external environment, universities of China will be faced with more complex management problems. At present, the strategic management of universities comes forth two pairs of contradictions: one is that the contradiction between the complexity of the strategic management of universities and individual capacity; another contradiction between the continuous concept of universities and the power of the leaders of universities. The way of management team can overcome bad effects which are aroused by decision-making of universities both the blind spot on personal understanding and the limited sense. Therefore, the top managers of universities should also learn from management theory about the management team and experience to manage universities. The strategic management theory of domestic and foreign enterprises and the management practice of companies indicate that they have a certain relationship between the biographical characteristics of top management team and strategic performance of companies. Well, do they have a certain relationship between the two, what kind of relationship? In order to improve the strategic performance of universities, what kinds of the leaders of universities need to manage our schools? In this thesis, the author studies the relationship between the top strategic management team in the biographical characteristics of and strategic performance of universities, using quantitative, empirical analysis method to prove the relationship between them. Based on the empirical analysis results, the author try to points that a few constructive suggestions for selecting leaders of universities.Chapterâ… is the introduction. Starting from the reasons and significance of this title, the thesis mainly talks about the situation between the biographical Characteristics of top management team of the domestic and foreign companies and strategic performance of companies, as well as the situation of the top strategic management team of domestic and foreign university; next, about the ideas and research methods.Chapterâ…¡introduces the theoretical basis of top strategic management team of Chinese University. Firstly, this thesis defines the definitions of the biographical Characteristics of top strategic management team of universities, and strategic performance of university; then expounds relevant theories, the functions and significance. This part is the basic theoretical framework of the research.Chapterâ…¢puts forward the theoretical assumptions of the correlation between the biographical characteristics of the top strategic management team and the strategic performance of University. This thesis mainly describes from the following two major aspects: firstly, expounds the observation of biographical characteristics of the strategic top management team,conforms top strategic management team as the research object of this thesis, emphasizes the observable characteristics of the managers; secondly, puts forward the theoretical assumptions of the relationship between biographical Characteristics of the top strategic strategic management team of and strategic performance of university.Chapterâ…£explains biographical characteristics of the top strategic management team and constructs strategic performance indicators. Starting from interpreting the biographical characteristics of the top strategic management team and constructing structural strategies of Chinese University, this thesis concretely explains how to construct a series of indicators, how to reflect the university's strategic performance; then, determines the weight of performance indicators; and next, makes out sources of data ; finally, calculates the scores of performance indicatorsChapterâ…¤is the conclusion of the thesis. Mainly on five aspects: Firstly, sets up and explain variables, takes the ages, term of the team, educational level and experience of study abroad as the biographical characteristics as independent variables, sets the strategic performance of the specific scores as the dependent variable. Secondly, uses spss13.0 for windows analysis the correlation between them, specifically about the Spearman's correlation coefficient for ranked data. Thirdly, tests consistency between the result of hypothesis and empirical analysis that describes the results of empirical analysis, and then analyzes causes and explains the conclusions. Fourthly, the author tries to points that a few constructive suggestions for selecting leaders of universities. Fifthly, expounds the limitations of this thesis.
