Since the 1980s, with the social and economic development, the number of migrant workers from rural areas increased rapidly. But the urban-rural dual economic and social system limited migrant workers to bring their children to their work cities. As a result, some children were left-behind in the rural areas, in which the proportion of school-age children was significant. At present, to establish and improve their social support system is particularly important not only to the basic life of more than 50 million children, but also related to this huge group's values, psychological and emotional healthy development. According to the review of social support theory, the writer believe that the research on the left-behind school-age children's social support system in rural is to analyze their basic situation, the difficulties and its relationship to existing social support system of interaction. This article divides the theoretical framework of social support into four dimensions: material support, emotional support, evaluation support and instrumental support. Material support is the basic condition for their survival. Emotional support and evaluation support are necessary conditions for their mental health development, and directly related to the correct outlook on their life and values. Instrumental support is the necessary factors to the children's development, including compeer support and participant support. In this paper, the writer used questionnaire survey and depth interviews to analyze the group's social support, explore the social support system for rural school-age groups of children left to lay the material, emotional, educational, psychological, security and other survival and development. The study found that rural school-age children remain with their social support system can not form an effective interaction in some aspects. Therefore, this paper thought we should strength the macro, medium and micro levels support of the school-age children in rural areas, properly resolve the difficulties they faced so that their can get healthy psychological and physical development.
