With the vigorous development of Chinese economy and the change of urban and rural structure,many people leave their hometowns in order to seek better opportunities for work,and a large number of left-behind children are derived from the huge floating population.Due to long-term spatial isolation from parents,insufficient parent-child communication frequency,and lack of emotional care and guidance,left-behind children will encounter various difficulties in their growth.As an unknown problem,emotional deficit is easy to cause psychological problems and bad behaviors of left-behind children,which has become one of the core problems affecting the healthy growth of left-behind children.Therefore,it is of theoretical and practical significance to study the problem of emotional deficit of left-behind children.Based on this,this paper uses social support theory as guidance and case work method.A representative left-behind child with emotional deficiency is selected as the research object in the process of outbound service.The research data is obtained by observation method,semi-structured interview method and other methods,so as to analyze the plight of emotional deficiency and social support of the service object and make needs assessment.On the basis of consultation with the client to develop a service plan.At the individual level,help the service object to relieve the bad mood,correct some of the parent-child relationship and interpersonal communication of the wrong cognition.At the family level,help the target to improve parent-child relationship,enhance the frequency and depth of emotional communication;Enhance the sense of emotional support of grandparents and meet the emotional comfort needs of the service objects in daily life.At the school level,the alienation and fear of teachers of the service objects should be changed,and the emotional support should be established.Guide the service objects to participate in class group activities,experience the collective warmth and feel the emotional support brought by social activities.At the community level,resources are linked to build connections with significant others,so that the clients feel helped and cared for.In closing the case,consolidate the progress made by the client.Finally,the results of the case are evaluated from two aspects: process and result.According to the evaluation results,the intervention service met the emotional needs of the service subjects to a certain extent,alleviated the plight of emotional loss,and improved the childhood happiness of the service subjects.This paper explores some ways to meet the emotional needs of left-behind children through case studies on the problem of emotional deficiency of left-behind children.On the basis of summarizing previous studies,combined with specific practical intervention process,the following conclusions are drawn: social support theory is suitable to alleviate the plight of emotional deficiency of left-behind children in problem analysis and problem solving;The effectiveness of case work intervention in the problem of emotional deficit of left-behind children can be guided by the needs of service objects,accurately determine the crux of the problem,and effectively conduct practical intervention to meet different types of emotional needs.The change of left-behind children’s own concept and the improvement of their ability are also the key to overcome the plight of emotional deficiency.
