The Comparison Of Attention Between The Beginners, The Veterans And The Master-hand Of Table-tennis

Attention is the concentration of consciousness to certain object. And it is vital to decide the behavior and psychological process of human beings. Therefore, it is of great importance in the research of athletes'attention while competing, for athletes must pay all their attention to the sporting event in a given time and space. This thesis analyzes the features and attention styles of table tennis players of different ages and levels on the basis of documents, psychological testing and mathematics statistics through comparing and contrasting the distribution, the intensity, the stability and the shift of the players'attentions, trying to find the players'regular patterns of attention. The conclusions are as following:(1) With the extension of sporting life and development of skills, the players'attention develops. The Independent Sample T Test shows the striking differences between the 13-year-limit group and the 3-year-limit group in sporting life. As for the intensity, there's no prominent regularity, but the attention of the table-tennis major players is more obvious than that of non-major players, while it is inferior to those of 13-year group.(2) There is no significant difference on the players'attention between the opposite sexes but the intensity of the male players'is superior to that of female's and the shift of attention of female is superior to that of male's. With the extension of sporting life and the development of the skills and tactics, the speed of male's distribution, intensity and stability of attention is much faster than that of female's.(3) The distribution of attention improves with the age, but there's no prominent difference among different age-groups. The intensity, stability and shift of attention of different groups take on a common tendency: that of 17-19 year-old group is noticeable than that of under 16 group. The above-20 group is similar to that of 17-19 group, but also prominent to the under 16 group.(4) The attention style of master-hand group is much better than that of the beginners'. The statistics show that every numerical value of the master-hand group is superior to that of others.
