As the development of the second curriculum reform of Shanghai, the problems of teachers' professional are paid more and more attention. One aim of the second curriculum reform is to improve teacher's professional development. But so far, it is still not enough as to the needs of teacher's professional development. For example, teacher's teaching idea needs to be renewed, their research abilities need to be developed, some teachers do not know how to choose and adopt new ideas and put them into teaching practice, others can not put the impersonal problems into research subjects. Facing varieties of needs and problems in teachers' professional development, we know that it is urgent to deal with how to keep up with teaching situation and innovate modes of professional development and gradually build up teachers' development system which meets the requirement of curriculum reform, in order to lead teachers develop themselves. This paper sets Jinshan district of shanghai as an example, focuses on the needs of teachers' professional development, to see what kind of help and support teachers need during this process, so that we can take correct, firm and practical measures. There are four chapters in the paper:The first chapter is introduction, mainly introduce the background, meaning and method of the research, explain some core concept and analyze the current research situation of relative theories at home and abroad.The second chapter mainly explains relative theories about needs of middle-school teachers' professional development, and make the concept of middle school teachers' professional development clear by introducing some theories of needs by classic writers.The third chapter sets middle-school teachers in Jinshan district in Shanghai as an example, begin with analysis of middle school teachers' needs by using survey and face-to-face interview, to find out the current problem and distance by introducing the basic information, current situation, problems and influence of middle school teachers' professional development in Jinshan district in Shanghai, and reveal middle-school teachers' career identification, the cognition of teachers' professional development, the needs of degree education and non-degree education, the purpose of taking part in continuing education, the mode of teachers' development and the self-evaluation and needs of teachers' knowledge, ability and self-development sense and so on. The forth chapter we find out that there are many problems on teachers' training, valuing, and career planning system which result in teachers' weak teaching idea, lack of knowledge, abilities and self-development sense, which are far away from the aim of teachers' professionalism. During all influence factors, the contradiction of examination-oriented and quality-oriented education system rank first, the second one is that teachers are too tired to consider their professional development, the third one is that teachers think that the current training lack of focused content.In the fifth chapter, according to the needs and current problems of middle school teachers in Jinshan district in Shanghai, long term and annual professional development should be made to strengthen middle school teachers' professional development. When making and practicing professional development plans, principles of ideas leading, deeds realizing and external support should be obeyed.
