Physical self-respect is an important part of self-respect on the whole, which have an important impact on the research of psychological health and the improvement of satisfaction towards life for the individuals. Physical self-respect refers to the satisfaction or dissatisfaction of individuals towards different aspects of their own body, which is also closely related with social evolution. It is concerned with the view and assessment towards his own looks, physique, and physical-fitness, etc. which is an important part of self-respect on the whole and is inspired at the earliest stage in the self-awareness of an individual. Researches in other countries show that the development of the adolescents' physical self-respect can promote the development of their self-respect. Researchers in China have also done some researches on the physical self-respect of the adolescents, which shows that college period is the integration period of college students' physical self-respect, and that positive physical self-respect is the basis of healthy personality.With the education reform deepening, a harmonious campus culture in college and the education on college students' psychological health has been an important and urgent issue for every college. Taijiquan, as an optional course, is a compulsory in physical education at college, which carries the essence of traditional Chinese culture, and it is influenced most deeply by Chinese traditional philosophy. It adopted the theories in Chinese classical philosophy, principles of traditional Chinese channels and collaterals, and theories of health preserving. Therefore, this paper probes into the impact of Taijiquan on college students' physical self-respect and the degree of satisfaction from life, so as to help them build up correct concept towards their own body and to promote the sense of satisfaction from daily life.With the application of the PSPP in reliability and validity, authorized by Fox and emended by Xu Xia, a Chinese scholar, and the measurement of the sense of satisfaction from daily life by Leunhg(1992) as a measuring tool of the sense of satisfaction in daily life, a survey is conducted on the students in Taijiquan class in ECNU. The statistics show: 1. After 15 weeks of practicing in Taijiquan class, an obvious improvement of college students' physical self-respect and the sense of satisfaction in daily life can be observed. 2. College students' physical self-respect and the sense of satisfaction in daily life vary because of the differences in gender and grade. 3. students' physical appeal, diathesis, and self-evaluation are predictable in the results of Taijiquan test.
