Cases from four families having a child of senior high school student, in the city of Bazhong, Sichuan Province, are introduced in this research. Through semi-structured interviews with the parents and children, the generation gap in the family about the school education is analyzed. In the four-dimensional interviews, the values of the education, the attitude to the education, the subject of the education and the function of the education are analyzed and four problems in the generation gap and their features are concluded: the collision from the multi-value, the non-recognition of mutual appraisal, the challenge from the enhancing self-consciousness against the authority, and the disharmony between the mismatch of the educational function and abating educational function. All of these problems impact the family education of the senior high school students more or less, with both active and passive impacts. From four aspects of cultural difference, social revolution, cultural transmission and family vicissitude, the cultural root cause behind these problems are explored; furthermore, four influential factors in the process of the development of the generation gap are also analyzed. By focusing on the collisions ruining the family education and generation relationship, and analyzing the phenomena of the generation gap in families, some suggestions are proposed, to make the relationship between generations on family education more harmonious.
