Purposes (1) This research designed a suit of children media literacy educationcurriculum which presented our mainland feature.(2) Explored the effect of children media literacy education in improving medialitercy.Methods Non equivalent-group pretest and posttest experimental design was usedfor this reserch ,106 primary school students in fifth grade were subjects,and a total of 27 children media literacy education for twice per week ,each for 40minutes were treated as independent variable, which contained TV literacy, cartoon literacy and network literacy. The Children TV Literacy Questionnaire,the Children Cartoon Literacy Questionnaire and the Children Network Literacy Questionnaire were used as research tool, plus the analysis results from the Curriculum Feedback Sheets, Subject Feedback Sheets and the interview record(students,teachers and parents),which were all used to discuss the effect of children media liteacy education.Results (1) After the experimental treatment of media liteacy education,theexperiment group gained higher scores in the the Children Cartoon Literacy Questionnaire, the Children Network Literacy Questionnaire,and partly in the Children TV Literacy Questionnaire.(2) Most students liked media literacy education curriculum,and gained a lot in knowledge,interests,abilities and habits, but some hadn't get anything obviously. Most students prefered the topics about cartoon,news,network.(3) Parents reviewed favorably in children media litercy education,most parents reflected that children could control the time for consuming media , arrange the time more reasonablly and begin to analyse the media information more critically, so they all supported school to develop media literacy education. But some reflected that children hadn't any change in evidence.(4)Teachers reviewed favorably in children media litercy education,because media literacy education had changed some students in konwledge, behavior and attitude, without any other changes obviously.Conclusions (1)Children media literacy education curriculum designed in thereseach is a native curriculum which suits to Chinese children.(2)Children media literacy education has positive effect in improving the medialiteracy for children.
