In the epoch of knowledge economy,the development of society is determined by the quantity and quality of the talented people brought out by higher education,whose quality mainly hinges on the quality of university teachers.Accordingly,new ideas and patterns have been put forth on the development of university teachers.As time goes pass, the background and ideology of higher education have made great change, consequently, university becomes the center of society, be accordance with this trend, the development of university teachers become the priority of advance of whole school. The purpose of research on the development of university teachers is not only to know the principle of university development theoretically, but also, to put the theory into practice and check its effects in practice.As far as the development of things is concerned, not only is there some universality but also particularity. So far, majority of documents and data on the research of development of university teachers focuse on theoretical discussion, and what's worse, they fail to go deep into the some university. And each university has their own characteristic and principle of development. Based on the data collected, this paper takes Tianshui Normal University as example and makes analysis of the whole situation and some problems the school confronting with.University teachers are the source of its energy and livingness. To some extent, the level of development of university teachers can reflect the real situation of management system construct while there are many factors can impact the development of university teachers such as objective elements including management system of higher education and some units'problems and subjective ones, for instance, teachers'weak desire of self-development, and the difficulty of cultivating teachers'sense of achievement and belongingness. This paper proposes some strategies based on analysis of Tianshui Normal University. For example, create more chances of communication; strengthen the advancement of academic and research and combination the In-job training with self-development.
