With the continuous deepening of the new curriculum reform, the curriculum of middle and primary schools has had a profound change. The teachers become the key of the success of reform. Therefore, teachers’basic and professional ability is critical. In China, the teacher education is mainly undertaken by higher normal colleges, the comprehensive university joined at teacher education, formed a relatively open system of teacher education. As double professional education, teacher education is both a subject and an education major. Normal students, the future employment goals are clear, as the future teachers of the preparation. Therefore, the qualified normal students should have the basic and professional ability, devote to the education of primary and middle schools with professional quality. Teachers’basic and professional ability is what mattered most to the future teacher. However, a lot of Studies about teachers’basic and professional ability have shown that normal students have many problems in the process of teaching and learning, such as theoretical knowledge and practice out of touch, lack of practice and so on. As a result, the author has made a research interest in teachers basic professional ability.In this paper makes clear the concept of "normal students" "the teachers basic professional ability". In this study, the concept of normal students is a kind of students study in comprehensive university. The teachers basic professional ability is based on general ability, which contains a number of special abilities. The author believes that the teachers basic professional ability includes basic ability, teaching ability, educational ability and development ability. Through the description of the relationship between knowledge, skills and ability of the three, it shows that the teachers basic professional ability plays an important role in the formation of the teaching ability of normal students.Then through the questionnaire survey of the 2016 normal school graduates of Y school, from four aspects of voluntary reporting and employment selection, teacher education curriculum setting, skills training and practice effect, understanding of the attitude of the students in the training content and methods. Analyses of the choice of employment in the vast majority of normal students choose to engage in the profession of teachers, exception of psychological education. In the course of teacher education, it is generally believed that the theory is too heavy and the practice is insufficient; the training of normal student skills reflects the lack of activity and the lack of hardware equipment; the problems reflected in the educational practice focus on the lack of internship time and the effect of the practice. Based on the specific issues raised by the investigation and analysis, in order to improve the teachers basic professional ability in Y school, to locate the local comprehensive university, and to train the teachers for the education of primary and middle schools; adjust the structure of teacher education curriculum, expand the proportion of educational theory courses and practical courses; Strengthen the skills training of normal students by optimize the education internship time schedule, work closely with primary and secondary schools to improve the effectiveness of educational practice.
