| Language is the main communication tool of human. It is the linkage of passing feelings and good wishes. Teachers are the disseminators of human civilization. The language of teachers should be the unity of truth,goodness and beauty. However,in recent years,the term——"teachers'language violence"has frequently appeared in the view of public,and has aroused the concern of the society.Compared with corporal punishment,teachers'language violence is even more hidden. It is not easy to be discerned by the outside world,but it has brought greater harm to the students than corporal punishment. Scholars have done a lot of researches to study a wide range of this phenomenon,they involved educational,psychological and legal aspects. But there has been few ethical research on this topic,so I tried to have a preliminary study of teachers'language violence from an ethical point of view.I conducted a fieldwork in some primary and secondary schools in Xinyang. The outcome corroborated in some degree the universality of teachers'language violence in primary and secondary schools, also the damage to the students. In my view, the occurrence and existence of teachers'language violence nowadays could be attributed to three factors: the traditional ideal of education, which highlighted the rigorousness and prestige of teachers; the professional ethic of teachers, and the utilitarianism of educational evaluation system. Thus, it is a necessity to draw on the essence of the traditional thought——'education of virtue', and enhance the professional ethic of primary and secondary school teachers.In short,this study was intended to trigger an alarm on primary and secondary school teachers and the society as a whole. I hopes in our country's basic education field,teachers could realize their responsibilities and obligations,so as to become the paragon of virtue,achieve the expectations of society and fulfill the glorious title of People's Teacher. |
