Original physics problems are unprocessed physics phenomena or facts that objectively exist, and can reflect physics concepts and regulations. Nowadays, more and more educators realise that the most significant destination for learning physics is to promote the students'abilities of solving practical problem. Therefore more and more original physics problems are applied in physics teaching, especially in all kinds of physics tests in junior middle schools. In consideration of the huge difficulties in students'solving original physics problems much more than in solving regular physics problems, the author studied these difficulties, adopting the method of questionnaire survey, verbal protocol and written material analysis. It is found that the main difficulties in students'solving original physics problems lies in the shortage of experience, background knowledge, low level of abstract ability and lack of good problem-reading habits. Correspondingly, the teaching-strategies on cultivating junior-middle school students'original physics problem solving ability are suggested and applied to practical teaching. The result of the practical teaching shows that the teaching-strategies are valid.
