Study On College Students' Truancy Problems And Countermeasures At The Course Of Ideological And Political Theory

Ideological and political theory course is compulsory in university education in China and this course which is a main channel of political education undertakes major systematic education function of Marxism. In recent years, especially after the enrollment expansion, college students are more and more often absent from this course. It has seriously affected teaching and management in universities and led to the failure of achieving education objectives of universities.In accordance with investigations and interviews from part of college students in HuaZhong University of Science and Technology, then analyze and described the Status of absence from Ideological and political theory course. Survey found that main aspects such as administration of the universities, awareness of students, teaching quality, social environment and psychological conditions of students result in high absence rate. After comprehensive and further analysis of these aspects, analysis of the key reasons for the teaching, suggestions and countermeasures are put forward against high absence rate of the course in the end.These measures of reducing absence from the ideological and political theory course are as follows: fully understand the importance of the ideological and political theory course, strengthening administration of education, improving college students'ideological quality, promoting teaching innovation, improving teachers'teaching quality and researching ability and optimizing teaching environment.When promoting teaching innovation of ideological and political theory course, it is necessary to emphasize the following points: Fist, when teaching the course, notions such as students are bases, teachers are dominant and teaching should be open to public should be taken. Second, innovations of the course should be realized. Third, teaching methods of combination of theory with practice should be borrowed. Fourth, heuristic teaching cases based teaching and multi-media teaching should be used. Fifth, assessing method of the course should be improved.With help of above-mentioned seven measures, education and administration of Ideological and political theory course will be improved and thus absence rate will be lowered.
