Researches Of Learning Support Services Design In The Application Of Blended Learning

In colleges and universities, the instructional environments and conditions are changed on both the side of hardware and software to a great extent by the information technology. Blended learning is proposed as a new idea and method to the instructional reformation in colleges and universities. At the present, one of the best methods to reform the instructions in colleges and universities is the model of blended learning in which the traditional learning in classrooms and e-learning complements each other. More and more colleges and universities are carrying out the research and application of blended learning based on their on-line course and other learning management systems. And the research subjects are mostly focusing on the overall course design and instructional design. But in the concrete implementation process of blended learning, the most critical issue is to design and carry out the learning support services which are suit for blended learning to make blended learning effective. The destination is to promote the effect of the students' learning.The concept of learning support services is from the field of distance education, but it is not limited in distance education. In blended learning, the face-to-face tutoring from teachers, question answering and discussions in web forums and chat rooms are ascribed to the category of learning support services. Applying of well-designed learning support services, it can arouse the students' enthusiasm and the initiative in learning activities. And the students' knowledge will be consolidated and deepened in many respects. Finally, it can improve the efficiency of students' learning. Blended learning in the course of web design which is for the students of educational technology is taken for example in this paper. We discuss the overall design, concrete case and application effects of learning support services from the aspects of role support service, resource support service, environment support service, activity support service and management support service. And we hope it can provide effective strategies and suggestions for the instructional reformation in colleges and universities.
