With the development of information age, a series of new ideas, new methods, new technologies and new means are produced, which have brought us education reforms one after another. Modern education activities have changed from the passive, didactic, and infusing ways into the ways emphasizing autonomy, individuality, variety. Teachers are no longer just to give a lecture. They have now become an organizer of learning resources, designer of the learning process, guide of learning behavior and evaluator learning outcomes. To help the students to be inter-disciplinary talents with excellent skills, high ethics, strong sense of responsibility and a high degree of professionalism, the educators are endeavoring to explore new teaching approaches to adapt to social development. The thesis is written under such background.Take the courses of "computer network" and "Multimedia Technology and Application" for example, the thesis gives a detailed description of Blended Learning, which combines the traditional teaching method and E-Learning teaching approach together. Blended Learning's main purpose is to optimize the selection and combination of elements of various learning skills, learning methods and get the best teaching results and maximum economic efficiency. However, the advantages of blended learning can not be easily gained in any course, by any teachers or under any environment. It requires the organizers'of careful design and implementation. So the research on the design and application of blended learning is the key.Based on the courses of "computer network" and "Multimedia Technology and Application", this thesis describes the theory, the design and the application of blended learning. The main research work of this thesis is shown as follows:(1) A detailed description of the correlative theories about Blended Learning, its basic characteristics, the basic application methods and the current research.(2) Combined with features of information technology courses in universities, taken the two courses for examples, the thesis emphasizes on the procedures of Blended Learning activities. It has used different media conditions and teaching environment to expand the case studies. With the questionnaire survey, interviews, literature research, the case has been successfully implemented. (3) The thesis has analyzed the data drawn from case studies, and it has also described in detail the various indexes in the blended learning activities. We can draw the conclusion that the blended learning is feasible in those two courses, which has played a good reference in other programs to promote blended learning.The characteristic in this paper is the combination of specific courses, specific subjects, specific teaching environment and the specific teaching methods. It has successfully implemented blended learning activities. The objective analysis of the data of case studies illustrates this kind of learning is both feasible and effective.
