Social identity is the keen psychological and emotional experience. The urban social identity of the immigrant children is the precondition with which they can adapt and incorporate into the urban living. so it means so much to us.With the qualitative date and the quantitative quentionaire survey altogether, choose the special angle "social identity"to analyse the course,problems and dilemma in urban social identity of immigrant children. At last,we found out that immigrant children are in identifying dilemma that they try to identify the urban living and groups, while restricted by urban exclusion,domestic condition and so on.under contradiction between positive identity and negative identity.The dissertation consititutes five parts, The first part is exordium which introduces the backgroud, the literature retrospect,research goals and significance. The second part is research design which includes hypothesis and methods. The third part mainly analyses the course,problems and dilemma in urban social identity of immigrant children. And comes to the conclusion. The fourth part analyses the causes that lead to the identity ststus on the ground of internal and outer situations. The fifth part tries advancing constructive suggestions from macro,medium and micro angles and summarizes the whole dissertation.The research has two characteristics: on one hand , the research paradigm which chooses the "social identity"perspective from social psychology is different from traditional "individual in group", which makes analysis on the ground of the angle "group in individual " .On the other hand,analyse the social identity course under the specific situations to explain the social identity as a social constructive psychological mind.
