Since reform and opening-up, the remarkable achievements have been obtained in our national economy. With the broad-based growth of household income, however, the income gap among regions is also widening, which is resulted from several factors. Among of them, the national education has critically important influence on it and will be discussed in this article. The education equity is involved in social justice and opportunity equality. The inequity of education will lead to other inequalities, such as individual development, personal wealth, and the social status etc. Equitable education is a balancer of opportunity equality between the rich and the poor. Therefore, it will be very meaningful to investigate the influence of education equity on income allocation inequality among regions, and provide the corresponding criterion and guidance, which will be of great significance for sustaining and rapid improvement of Chinese economy and building of the harmonious societyMany research works about the relationship between education and income gap have been done with different methods, such as theoretical analysis and demonstration analysis, but the different conclusions have been drawn due to different regions and periods data, research points, as well as approach choice.Based on the published research results, and the latest and systemic statistical materials, the empirical method combined with normalization analysis has been utilized to study the relationship between the income gap and the education disparity among the representative regions of China from 1997 to 2004, in theoretically and statistically.A binary regression model has been established in this paper to investigate the relationship between education disparity and income gap, and their correlation and regression as well, in which the Gini coefficient of income is chosen as the dependent variable and the average education years and Gini coefficient of education as the independent variables. The detailed calculation formulas for those three variables have been presented. The required data could be obtained according to the information of education and income shown in statistics yearbook of the whole nation and each province and city. Bringing those data into the model, the regression analysis has been carried out from two different points. We find that the final results obtained from cross-section and time-sequence data do not agree each other and it is quite difficult to obtain a unified reasonable conclusion. To solve this problem, we combine both data and make further analysis with Eviews software. The regression dependence between income gap and education disparity is gotten. The unified explanation and the corresponding reason are given according to the "structure effect" and "salary-compression effect" of education expansion.Final results show that there is a close and stable relationship between education and income inequality. At present, the development of the national education is still the main reason accounting for the increasing of income gap, which has direct influence on framing and adjusting our national income allocation and education policies at moment and in future. Thus, a great effort has to be devoted in the education development to reduce education disparity. Certainly, the household income allocation gap, which is due to many reasons, comes into being gradually. Therefore, it will be a slow and complicated process to reduce income gap and speed economy by developing education, which needs our incessant efforts to realize it soon.
