Social sports is the important part of sports cause in our country.The construction and development of this cause is a crucial task and the objective in the new period. Social sports specialty is set up to cultivate the talents, and the development level and quality concerns the rise and fall of this career.It is responsible for public universities which establish this specialty to make efforts to bulid and develop it to train those talents of social sports who can adapt the social demands.The research is on the basis of a great number of theorial researches by making reviews and questionnaire with some students,teachers,educational supervisors and employment trainning units. Through the analysis, the research is come to as follows:Firstly, social sports specialty of Yangtze River Delta Region develops rapadily,whose school-running strength is that Yangtze River Delta Region has abundant economic resources, which creats a big need market of social sports specialized talents.Secondly, educational resources cannot completely satisfy with the demands for its talents cultivation;Gymnasiums and stadiums such as golf courts and outward development courts also cannot meet the needs of teaching; trainning bases are not enough and instable.Thirdly, most universities have the similar fostering aims and specification which depart from the demands of entire socity, and their professional knowledge and skills can't cater for the units' requests.Forthly, the curriculums are mainly divided into two parts: compulsory courses and optional courses. Compulsory courses are separated into public basic lessons and specialty basic ones;Optional courses are mostly divided into limited optional courses and free optional courses. Compared with technical discipline and optional courses, compulsory courses and theoretical discipline account for a larger percentage.Fifthly, the employment rate of social sports specialties in Yangtze River Delta Region in 2007 and 2008 are as follows:88.9% of people had clear work directions. In terms of employment field, 31.1% of students took up teachers as their career; 10.8% of them chose to pursue the master degree; 12.6% changed their career unrelated to sports; 10.5% of students worked in sports administrative departments and 24% of them entered social sports field.
