"Being able to enter, being able to stay, being able to study well" is an important link in carrying out the policy for children of migrant workers to receive the compulsory education. The releasing of policies and regulations has solved the problem of "being able to enter", that is to say, migrant workers can enroll their children in public schools. But how to let them be able to stay and study well in public schools has become a new topic. What is the academic status of children of migrant workers in public schools? This is a question whose answer our central leadership and the masses are eager to know. Knowledge changes destiny, education achieves future. The academic problems of children of migrant workers are directly related to the stability and future development of this group.Therefore, it is not only necessary but also urgent to study this topic.In this paper, children of migrant workers in public junior middle school in K city are taken as the research object , through the investigation of their academic status, this paper does deep research on the academic problems of children of migrant workers and analyses their causes. It also proposes targeting solutions to improve the academic status of the children of migrant workers and enhance their academic achievements.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part analyses the background of the questions, explains the significance of this research is carried out, introduces the research program, and defines the main concepts related in the paper.The second part deals with the literature research achievements to let the readers get a general understanding of the education conditions of children of migrant workers. Theoretically analyses the factors that affect the students' academic achievements and lays the theoretical basis for this paper.The third part access to information through questionnaires and interviews, uses comparative methods to analyse the academic status of both the children of migrant workers and the local students in junior middle school in K city and revealed that the major problems of children of migrant workers in academic are as follows: low academic performance, serious unbalanced subjects, lack of good study habits, lack of enterprise awareness, poor organization and discipline.The fourth part analyses the reasons why the children of migrant workers in public middle schools have problems in their academic from five angles : the family, the school, the society, the students themselves and their situations for further studies after graduating from junior middle schools.The fifth part explores the countermeasures to improve academic achievements of the children of migrant workers in public middle schools.
