The standard of Chinese courses in senior high school attaches great importance to unleashing the spirit of nurture of literature to the stuednts. In the teaching materials of various versions compiled under this guideline, a great amount of classic literary output were included. Ever since a long time ago, however, the teaching of classical literature has been accepted by the traditional learning methods, such as the article studies. These motheds are monotonous and the teaching programs are boring. These motheds only make a stress on the re-transfer of knowledge, but neglecting the capacity-building, so the teaching efficiency is not very good. The dominant position of the students has not been respected, self-learning capacity has not been given sufficient attention. Coupled with the pressure examination-oriented education bring to the students and the impact on them in extra-curricular reading, students have a distanced attitude to the classical literature, so the change in the teaching of literary works is in an urgent.As a new teaching idea and learning style, research-based learning has attained much good graces and encouragement in world wide in recent years. also actively advocates an "independent, cooperative, explorative" way of learning. Therefore, to carry out research-based learning in the teaching of classical leterature in an effective way to promote it.The purpose of this thesis are as follow: to promote the teaching of classical leterature by the novel approach, research-based learning; to encourage the classical leterary works to play a better part in its spirit-feeding function, so that the students can raise questions independently and solve problems cooperately during the process of research-based learning, capacity-building and publicizing the personality are also expected; to allow Chinese teachers to improve their professional knowledge and enhance their professional happiness during the process guiding the students to carry the research-based learning out. The main contents of this thesis are as follow:1. The concept and the definition of classic literature, the value and the significance of Reading Literary Classics.2. The analysis of the current situation of extra-curricular reading in high school. In this chapter, the current situation of extra-curricular reading is discussed: the students' disregard and denial of the classics, their preferences to fashionable and fast food type reading. What's more, the analysis of causes is given from both external and internal aspects of teaching.3. The review of research-based learning of literature. In this chapter, the connotation and characters of this learning, the significance of carring research-based learning of classic literary works and the theoretical foundation of this learning's launch are included.4. The implementation strategies of research-based learning of classic literature. This part is the focal point and heart of this thesis. In this chapter, the precondition of carry this learing out is set up an idea of morden education, "four changes " need to be realized. Several strategies of this learning is also discussed, they are as follow: reading strategies, Problem-based strategies, global design strategies in this research-based learning.5. Several questions should be noted in implementation process. The battle position of research-based learning of classical literary works is in classroom; be vigilant and refrain from the tendency of academic; to coordinate the relationship of research-based learning and passive study; to pay attention to the role of teachers in research-based learning; be vigilant to "fake multivariant reading" in research-based reading.
