Reciting is an effective method to accumulate knowledge and increase Chinese ability. In recent years,with the Chinese teaching developing,varieties of teaching programs come out,which give people a dazzling display. What's worse,the traditional reciting method is forgotten gradually. The survey towards the surrounding teachers and students in Junior and Senior school show me much concern about the quality and quantity of reciting. First,Chinese class usually focus on teachers' explaining while students have little chance to recite. Second,the lack of materials which need to be remembered and recited leads to students' smallaccumulation. Third, even if there is some reciting in class, students still show little interest in reciting because of the rare instruction of teachers. Finally, the baton of raking the entrance examination regulates terchers' mind and behavior, which results in the eagerness for instant success and quickprofits in Chinese study. It,of course, goes against the rule of Chinese teaching.Considering the situation above, this paper first argues about the relationship between reciting and Chinese teaching, illustrating the functions of reciting,that is to say,how to enhance the reading ability, accumulate larguage moterialsand cultivate the language ability and humane spirits. The second chapter talks about the historic development of reciting teaching, reviewing the acient reciting teaching, analysing the reciting teaching in nowadays and exploring the reasons and bringing up suggestions. The third chapter mainly explain the relationship between reciting and language ability, exploring how to cultivate language ability and increase the Chinese accoplishment. The fourth chapter is about reciting training, including reciting beat,tone,method and how to raise the students' reciting interest. Different misunderstandings in Chinese teaching and conrespondent solutions is talked about in the fifth chapter. The reciting class in poetry and classical Chinese is discussed through examples in the last chapter.To sum up ,this paper mainly concentrates on the reciting in Chinese teaching,helping it can draw teachers' attention to reciting-----a traditional teaching methodand help increase the efficiency of Chinese teaching, thus enchancing students' Chinese accomplishment. At the same time, the research not only accords with the teaching rule, but also complys with the trend of New Course Reform. I believe that it could have some effect on Chinese teaching.
