| PISA aims to assess and compare the situation that 15-year-old students prepare for the future life. Mathematical Literacy Assessment is a major aspect of PISA. As an important part of modern culture, mathematics has great significance for people development. To consider the significance of the individual must take into account individual's knowledge and understanding of mathematics, and how they make use of ability to solve mathematics problems in real life. PISA assesses students'subject literacy, different from traditional mathematics assessment. The mathematics problems of PISA are designed to show all aspects of mathematics problem-solving of real life situation.From the background, the basic situation, and mathematics literacy assessment framework of PISA, we understand advanced concepts and scientific theoretical framework, flexible subject design, standardized operating procedures and comparable assessment results.The study based on the mathematics subject and element of literacy, we can fine strategy to cultivate mathematics literacy. Pen and paper test will be one of the main means of assessment in a long time, during studying function and form of test system, its will be very helpful for our reform in mathematics assessment.
