With the rising of interdisciplinary research and application, multi-disciplinary joint research which break the barriers between disciplines has become a major new trend in scientific development. Interdisciplinary research has achieved a series of major achievements, and greatly accelerated the development in the field of technology, economy as well as social life. As the most important educational vehicle in colleges and universities. how the multi-disciplinary organizations improve the training system and the quality of education has become a key factor for sustainable development of interdisciplinary research in China. The core of this study is to discuss how the multi-disciplinary organizations utilize the organizational strengths to break the barriers between disciplines and to establish a scientific mechanism for inter-disciplinary training of graduate students.This study started with theory and practice of cross-disciplinary training of graduate students, then systematically explored the concept and connotation of post-graduate training system, the subject organizations, interdisciplinary organization, and analyzed the status quo and problems of current multi-disciplinary organization of College Graduate Training. Through discussing the cases at home and abroad, the author summarized the reasons for their success. Based on the problem analysis and lessons learned, by combining the concepts of open systems theory and processes of management thinking, the author discussed the internal and external impact factors on interdisciplinary training of graduate organizations, then presented a process management model for the interdisciplinary training of graduate students. The study also put forward countermeasures and suggestions from six aspects to improve the interdisciplinary postgraduate training in China. The six aspects are system construction, resources investment, mentors assignment, incentive system, teaching and scientific research and quality control.The interdisciplinary postgraduate education in Chinese Colleges and Universities is still at the exploratory stage. This study offered some constructive suggestions to perfect the postgraduate education mechanism and the personnel structure in China.
