Mobile learning (m-learning) has become an important field of research. The current research mainly focus on m-learning technology rather than instructional design (ID), it can not fully meet the requirements from theory and reality. Therefore, the thesis has relatively important theoretical and practical value.In this paper, the main research scope and content of m-learning involved in definition classifying, speciality, main theoretical base, ID principles, establishing of ID model, and so on. The main research methods include use of literature research, content analysis, logical reasoning and system modeling.The main conclusions of this study:1) about the definition of m-learning. Two directions were pointed out, then a narrow sense of m-learning was given:mobile learning was a kind of digital learning model, it can solve learning problems with portable digital mobile device and wireless network, when learners is facing some learning demand, whether in anytime anywhere.2) about classifying of m-learning. By the standard of historical mobile tools of educational technology, five types of m-learning was classified, which contains original, neoteric, modern, up-to-date, futural.3) about the main theoretical base of m-learning. It's clearly pointed out that the basis of m-learning and m-learning ID model should be constructivism, which direct theoretical base is informal learning, contextual learning and so on.4)about the ID model of m-learning. A new kind of ID model of m-learning was constructed from basic ADDIE model, which contains pre-analysis, constructing of learning environment, designing and developing of resources, organizing and implementing of activities, instruction evaluation, project management.I hope the initial results of this research will be applied in else theoretical research and practical work for the future, to validate that if it is scientific, rational, effective,and on the basis for improvement.
