Junior primary students begin to learn the ancient poetry. However, many of them still cannot master the knowledge of the ancient poetry well after entering junior high school or even senior high school. A considerable number of people still can not appreciate the ancient poetry alone.In this paper, I gave a questionnaire survey and analysis about the teaching of the ancient poems and gave a brief introduction about the theory of knowledge classification, including learning theory and teaching theory. And then conducted thorough analysis about the knowledge structure of ancient poetry , the formation and development of the ancient Poetry reading ability and the dynamic process of reading ancient poems. The knowledge structures of ancient poetry include declarative knowledge, reading skills and reading strategies. Actually , the formation and development of the ability to read ancient poetry is the process of learning and transforming the three types of knowledge . The dynamic process of reading ancient poetry include: decoding process, the process of literal understanding , the process of the inferential understanding and the process of monitoring . Based on the knowledge above , I deeply probed the law of teaching ancient poetry according to the relevant principles of the knowledge classification learning theory and teaching theory and concluded the ways and means of improving the students' ability to read ancient poems .Meanwhile ,I made the concrete research about the things that the Chinese teachers should do with the ancient poetry in their teaching . They include the design of teaching aims, the task analysis of teaching the ancient poetry , the identification of the teaching process, the choice of the use of teaching methods and the implementation of teaching evaluation . After that , I put forward the measures they should take and the problems they should pay attention to. Aimed to improve the teaching quality, the theory of knowledge classification was draw into the ancient poetry teaching . At the same time, the students ' reading ability can be improved on their original level.
