In the 21st century, the modern media reading such as film , TV , Internet is making a great impact on the contemporary students. In comparison, the classics reading of high school students not only has no greater improvement, but also has suffered a huge shock by the colorful and fresh modern media reading, resulting in an awkward position. This study is just carried out under the above background. This paper comprises three parts, the main points go as follows:Part one: This paper traces the connotation of the modern media reading and The classics reading of high school students , and sorts out the two concepts , clarifies the characteristics of their own. It is found that the two can learn from each other and the modern media culture can help students find a way to the classics reading.Part two: Reflecting on the state of the high school students'classics reading, analyzing the pros and cons of The modern media reading and the reasons for students'weakening in reading ,we can clear up the relationship between the media reading and the classics reading. If teachers can make use of the advantages and rich resources of it for students to build a bridge leading to the classic reading ,the classics reading will smoothly come into the lives of students, thereby enhancing their language literacy.Part three: This part explores the connection strategy that combines the modern media reading and The calssics reading. It discusses the necessity and urgency, possibility and reality of connection between the two , and raise many problems that may be encountered in teaching practice in the end.
