China is a land of poetry and classical Chinese poetry which implies the Chinese spirit is the essence of the traditional culture.It has always been an important part of language education in China.Due to a social tendency to obtain fast fame and profit,the pressure of college entrance examination as well as the reasons of teachers themselves,the ancient poetry teaching did not accomplish very well in inheriting and carrying forward the national culture,neither did the students' aesthetic ability develop.Exploring one of the whole history so that ancient poetry teaching can play its due role,has become the motive for writing this paper.In order to implement the spirit of new curriculum reform,and to explore new ways to combine teaching theories and teaching practice,the paper which will be base on psychology,pedagogy and Chinese language education theories,will start from the actual situation obtained from the survey to reveal the status of ancient poetry teaching in senior high school and try to find out the reasons behind it so that the problems can be solved and specific solutions can be found.The paper is made up of three chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,an overview of the background in which the issues are raised and the main content,significance and methods.The second chapter analyzes the status of ancient poetry teaching in senior high school.By making a survey among high school students in Huainan about their knowledge of ancient poetry and analyzing the results, a conclusion can be drawn.That is-there are few new ideas in teaching methods and the levels of teaching are vague.The interest students show in studying ancient poetry is not that strong.Evaluation system is single and teaching is college entrance examination oriented.The third chapter presents solutions problems in ancient poetry teaching in senior high school.Educational concepts,classroom teaching practice and teaching evaluation will be mainly discussed.This paper is a preliminary exploration of the subject and efforts are made to analyze and solve the problems to tend to be reasonable so that it will be hoped to give some instruction and help to teachers.
