| American's teacher education has developed into a relatively mature system, among which the accreditation system of teacher education has played an important role in it. The history of teacher education in China is relatively short but has developed at a fast speed, because the social and times development has raised higher demands for teacher. Under this background, the research on the American teacher education accreditation is of great importance.The paper tries to analyze NCATE and TEAC respectively (American teacher education accreditation) at first and then compare one with the other, further summarize the characteristics of American teacher education accreditation system. All this is to put forward some suggestions for structuring our future teacher education accreditation council based on analysis of our national conditions.At the beginning the paper traces back to the history of America teacher education accreditation, which is divided into the normal school stage,the normal college stage,the education college stage and the mature stage. And predicts that American teacher education accreditation is developing into a unified system. Then the paper began to introduce NCATE and TEAC respectively from the aspects of background,accreditation procedure,accreditation standard and accreditation influence. Later transformed to the comparison of the two institutions naturally, the result is that the difference between the two institutions is wide such as NCATE focus on the external assessment while TEAC put emphasis on internal assessment. The paper summarizes the characteristics of American teacher education accreditation council such as purpose at improving the quality of institution. In the end, compared with our national conditions, the paper proposed implications for constructing our teacher education accreditation council such as set the position of accreditation councils and put up with ideas for establishing the object and subject of accreditation in China.
