General Education Of Implementation In Research Universities In China

If China wants to be an innovation-oriented country, innovation-oriented talents are the key words. Research Universities are very important, for they have the burden of training innovation-oriented talents for our country. General Education is the main trend of recent education, the aim of it is to help students gain generous base-knowledge, and train their thinking-methods, so it can lay the solid foundation of training innovation-oriented talents for our country. This paper takes research universities as the object of study, designed to further and deeper understanding of the matter and causes from the theoretical perspective, to propose a solution, in order to strengthen the construction of implementation of general Education in our research Universities, and provide the basis for higher education and the development of economic and social. Based on the use of relevant theories and methods, the main contents of the study can be summarized as follows.First of all, the thesis has summarized the present condition of implementation of general Education in American universities. The analysis includes the course and study, teaching evaluation, counseling and daily, administrative support, funding, administrative operation, and so on, to provide reference for our research Universities.Secondly, the thesis has summarized the present condition of implementation of general Education in our research Universities, and point out the problem. The problems include the understanding of the concept and aim of general education, the system, structure, content and institutions of general education courses, and teacher construction.Finally, for the problem, the thesis proposes the solutions, which include having clear training objectives, and emphasis on general education philosophy; strengthening the general education curriculum implementation, improving the curriculum structure, reforming teaching methods, optimizing curriculum system, developing campus life, concerning on campus educational resources, enhancing teacher training and selection, and establishing effective incentive and evaluation systems, changing student managements, practicing tutor system, setting up agencies of general education.
