Since 1980s, school-university partnership has become a common trend of the times of teacher education. As an innovative educational practice, the school-university partnership is an important way to improve teacher education, which has great potential in promoting the professional development of teachers. At the same time, it's also helpful for students to learn and it's the first choice for school reform required efforts. The school-university partnership creates a win-win situation, which not only enhance the teaching effectiveness of teachers to make students learn better and also enhance the teaching effectiveness of universities to prepare more excellent future teachers and meanwhile improves the overall quality of education. After the development of over 20 years, the practice of American school-university partnership has made some effects, whose successes and shortcomings can provide useful experience and lessons for our cooperation between universities and schools.The study describes the development process of American school-university partnership and working current situation, and several specific examples of American school-university partnership, analyzes its whole practice status, including the positive effects and existing problems, and summarizes its characteristics so that it can use a source of reference for China's cooperation between universities and schools.This study is divided into six parts:Introduction section:discusses the origin of this research, literature review and the research design.Partâ… :describes the development process of American school-university partnership from simple cooperation to partnership.Partâ…¡:Analyzes the running status of American school-university partnership, including school-university partnership's goals and types, mechanism assurance and its practice mode.Partâ…¢:With several examples, describes American school-university partnership further.Partâ…£:Analyzes the American school-university partnership practice results, points out their existing experience and problems, and also summarizes its characteristics.Partâ…¤:Based on the previous part of the analysis and discussion of the paper, according to our nation's actual situation, makes a few suggestions for our current cooperation between universities and schools.
