Since 1980's, Britain and America have reformed their traditional teacher education and practiced new initial teacher training models, that is Britain model of School-based Teacher Training and American model of Professional Development School,based on university-school collaborative partnership with the aim of improving teachers' professional level. This thesis makes a comparative study of the two university-school initial teacher training models between Britain and America, analyses the general and specific characteristics of the two models, summarizes experiences and brings forth some problems and tries to discuss developmental laws of university-school collaborative partnership, so as to offer some references to ours.The thesis consists of the preface and other 4 parts:Preface: This part is mainly about the significance and methods of the study and the definitions of collaboration and university-school partnership.Part one: Britain model of university-school initial teacher training: School-based Initial Teacher Training. This part inquires into the background, theoretical base, operational process, effects and problems of the model.Part two: American model of university-school initial teacher training: Professional Development School. This part inquires into the background, theoretical base, operational process, effects and problems of PDS.Part three: Comparison and analysis of university-school initial teacher training models between Britain and America. This part mainly makes a comparison of the two models and points out some differences and similarities between them. Based on it, some general laws on university-school partnership are summarized.Part four: Enlightenment and Reference. On the basis of the comparison in the part three, the author points out the problems of isolationbetween university and school in initial teacher education in China and briefly introduces the reform of Teacher Development School. In the end, some proposals are put forward for establishing university-school partnership in China based on analysis of some difficulties and obstacles in China.
