Teaching practice is the key link of the student teachers realizing their own role anddeveloping teacher professionalization. It plays a vital role in cultivating qualified teachers. Inthe initial teaching education, the University and Schools are the places of prospectiveteachers getting professional knowledge and practical knowledge. So how to play out the bestrole of the University and Schools is the centre of cultivating qualified teachers. In the initialteacher education in the U.K., the partnership between the University and Schools was set up.It changed the traditional mode of taking the University as the leading role and pay muchattention to the organic cooperation between the University and Schools. The importance ofthe practice was emphasized and at the same time the status of Schools was promoted. Itmade sure that the student teachers were developed in the practice.This paper analyses five parts of the partnership, including the background of theimplementation, the course of its formation and development, the current situation, thedistinguishing feature and the problems and so on. By clearing up and discussing thepartnership, exploring how it can make the combination of educational theory and educationalpractice and reflecting the essence of the partnership, at the same time, make it clear that howit guarantee the partnership go on wheels. At last, to make reflection on it, and provide someeffective reference for the reform of teacher education in our country.There are five parts in the paper. The first part shows the development status of theteaching practice in the U.K.; the second part analyses the partnership and the basic theory;the third part introduces the operation of the partnership in the teaching practice; the fourthpart analyses characters and the influence of the partnership; and the last part points out theproblems in the partnership and tries to put forward some reflections.
