| Population aging is the inevitable result of social and economic development and also the inevitable tendency in the process of social development. The problem of population aging has already aroused the attentions of all over the world in particular developed countries and has already become one of the hot issues worldwide. With the developing of the problem of population aging, various challenges brought by the how to deal with it has already been an issue to be confronted by every country in the world.China is a big country with a population of 1,300,000,000, and as well as many developed countries, has already entered a society of population aging. The population base of the elderly is large in China and its aging speed is also very fast which make China a typical country of getting old before getting rich. At the same time, China is also a multi-national country. China pays much attention to the development of the population of minorities and makes sure that the development of the population of minorities is normal through a variety of effective measures. However, with the development of times, under the combined action of various factors, the problem of the minorities'population is still very prominent. Especially the Korean-Chinese, although there are some favorable policies for them in the population and family planning, the birthrate is still rather low. Korean- Chinese nationality has already become the first minority in which the negative population growth and the population aging have both appeared. Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture is the only Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China, and also the largest population residential area of Korean-Chinese in China. Population aging has already become an important issue of the Yanbian population problems. The China Tumenjiang Region Coordination and Development Planning Outline- Chang, Ji and Tu as the Leading Area of Development and Opening Up was approved to be carried out in Aug. 2009 which puts the development and opening up of Chang, Ji and Tu into the hierarchy of strategy and carries out it. As the window and leading edge, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture plays an essential role in the whole situation of Tumenjiang Region development and opening up. So it is very important to solve the population problem of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. Though the analysis of the current population situation and the characteristic of population aging of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, the research on the reason for population aging of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture and the influences of population aging on economy and society of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture have been carried out , and based on this, the countermeasures and suggestions against the population aging of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture have been put forward.The thesis is divided into five parts:Part-1 is the theoretical basis of the research. The definition of population aging and some other relevant definitions are defined, and the relevant basic theory is stated. Meanwhile, the background of subject selection, research documents, references and research methods are all related and analyzed and the structure of the thesis is still introduced.In Part-2, the current situation and characteristic of the population aging of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture is analyzed in detail. Firstly, the development history and the current situation of population aging are analyzed, and then three aspects of characteristics of the population aging of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture are concluded as follows: The first aspect is that the growth rate of elderly people is high and the proportion of the younger elderly in the elderly people is large; the second aspect is that there is a gap between urban and rural population aging and the distribution of elderly people is unbalanced; the third aspect is that the population aging is ahead of the level of social and economic development of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. In Part-3, the main factor of population aging of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture is analyzed. The factors influencing the population aging of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture mainly include the followings: firstly, the birthrate; secondly, the death rate cut and the average life expectancy prolonged; thirdly, population migration. It is estimated that the population aging of future Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture will still proceed at an accelerated speed.In Part-4, the influences of population aging on social and economic development of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture are analyzed from five aspects: firstly, the influences of the population aging on the retirement pension system of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture; secondly, the influences of the population aging on the labor resources of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture; thirdly, the influences of the population aging on industrial structure of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture; fourthly, the influences of the population aging on consumption and investment of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture; fifthly, the influences of the population aging on the social culture of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.In Part-5, on the base of detailed analysis and relation, the countermeasures and suggestions against the population aging of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture are put forward: firstly, to perfect family planning policy and encourage the Korean Chinese families to have a second child; secondly, to accelerate the economic development and strengthen the material basis undertaking the population aging; thirdly, to perfect the retirement pension system and accelerate the construction of serving for the retirement pension system; fourthly, to promote the idea of opportunities for the elderly and make full use of the labor resource and talent resource of the elderly; fifthly, to explore industry of aging actively and develop the consumption market of the elderly with great efforts.Population aging is one of the main problems confronted by Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture currently, and also is an important issue to be dealt with necessarily in the population development strategy of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. The degree of population aging of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture will deepen as time goes on and will also influence all aspects of politics, economy, culture and social life of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. Therefore, the problem of population aging should be paid high attention to and an early research on it and also some early relevant countermeasures against it should be taken by Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, all of which will help Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture to transform passivity into initiative and then to walk fast on the way of social and economic development.
