In the complicated context of social transformation and differentiation, especially financial crisis, the college students are also faced with more new problems and circumstances. Therefore, counselor of university should have the abilities both in thoughts and political education work and in psychological counseling and career planning tuition.Participating in psychological service is the mission of university counselor which is bestowed by the times and the related state function departments have had related documents and regulations. Psychological service is different from psychological counseling, and mind-cure is even more so. Its objects are personality perfection and integrated development.The thesis analyzes and summarizes the abilities that are needed by counselors during the process of psychology service work on the basis of the discussion of college students'mental health issues, characteristic summary, counselor's psychology confusion and problems according to the theory of general ability and specific ability and principle of mutual transformation between knowledge and ability.
