Rural education is the top priority of China's basic education. However, the main solution to the rural education is to optimize the current classroom teaching. As a result of the long existence of the dual structure in urban and rural economy, a large number of high-quality educational resources are concentrated in urban area, rural basic education has become a bottleneck restraining China's education from healthy development. In recent years, the state is increasing its support for rural education, the hardware construction of rural education have made gratifying achievements, but specific to classroom teaching, there are still a lot of to be desired. Therefore, reviewing the rural classroom teaching, based on reality, managing to put forward sound recommendations and tactics has an important practical significance for improving the quality of rural education in China.In this paper, the author thoroughly recapitulates implementation strategies for the small-size class teaching of primary school at rural area by applying such methods as literature research, survey research, and case studies. First of all, he explains the significance of putting the small-size class teaching into effect by starting with the concept related to the method. The presentation of small-size class teaching in rural areas has its profound theoretical basis. Based on three different theories such as equal access to education, subjective education and individual education, he analyzes the theoretical foundation of small-size class education in rural areas. Then, based on the investigation and the perspective of the current teaching of Rural Primary School, the paper tries to put forward some teaching strategies which adapt to Rural Primary Schools.On the basis of a full investigation of rural education and the theory of small-size class teaching, the author tries to bring forth several tactics to optimize the classroom teaching of primary school at the countryside, namely, the integration of rural educational resources, the realization of National Curriculum into School-based curriculum, and the Investigation the tactics of Constructing and implementing Local Courses; Secondly, the paper attempts to explore the tactics of how to carry out Hierarchical teaching and Activity- teaching; Finally, based on the Status quo of restriction of traditional instructional evaluation to the development of the instruction in our rural primary schools, the paper explores how to put the modes of scientific evaluation assessment into small class instruction in rural areas.Small Class Instruction in rural primary school develops from the urban one in many cities of China. It is based on the reality of rural education, and focusing on the long-term, its fundamental purpose is to improve the general quality of education and teaching in rural areas, and to facilitate the balanced development of education between the urban and rural areas. The research done by the author on this issue is rather plain. His hope is that the exploration in this paper can provide a little reference and reflection on further improving the quality of rural education in China.
