The early nineties of last century, with the socialist market economy system preliminarily established, Chinese football was the first into the history , as a breakthrough and touchstone in China's sports management system reform. In April of 1994, the National Football League's opening, marked Chinese football formally to the professional football. Summary, Chinese football has reformed professional football for more than ten years, at the same time, we fully acknowledge the reformation professional football accelerated the development of football game. But should see more than a decade of professional football reformation in China does not make a qualitative leap in certain level, and a great mangy problems have arisen. Among them, the rights of professional players have not been effectively protected is a serious problem, has seriously affected the healthy development of Chinese football.There is no doubt that professional players are basic and most important element in the development of vocational.If their rights can not be effective in protecting for a long term, the enthusiasm of the training and competition will decline, reserve sports talents shortage, level of football fell off sharply, the market of football in the doldrums, poor investment environment and a series of serious problems, these consequences will have a negative impact of Chinese football. Over time, the Chinese Football inevitably caught in a vicious cycle. Therefore, protecting the legitimate rights of the athletes is important for the athletes achieve the suitable development of sport and is an objective request to construct an lawful, harmonious society in our country, which conform the tendency of human society from"the voluntary standard"to"the right standard".In this paper, based on the collection and studying sports science, law, sociology and the related areas. using document data, logical analysis, case studies and other research methods,in-depth study on the issue of the protection of the rights of professional football players. Conclusions of this research were followed as such:1. Legal rights of professional football players, including the substantive and procedural rights. The procedural rights is a very important means to achieve the substantive rights. Substantive rights of professional players mainly include life and health, the right of labor remuneration, education, reputation, the right to fair competition, free agency, etc. Procedural rights include: right to learn the truth, right to defend oneself, the right to a hearing, the right of petition, litigation right, etc.2. Current, protection of the professional players'rights situation is not optimistic, encroach on the rights of a lot of athletes. Those situations can be attributed in the main to current professional football philosophy and management system behind; weak legal, the relevant subjects of the rights consciousness, the rule of law concept needs to be strengthened; lack of the rights to relief mechanism; high maintenance costs; lack of representation of all professional players'rights to autonomous organizations; football brokerage developed slowly, it cannot play its role very well.3. Through the following measures can effectively protect the legitimate rights of professional players. Reference and introduce advanced business and management theory of professional football, establishing long-term sustainable development goals and plans; Enact supporting laws and regulations, creating a favorable legal environment. strengthen legal promulgation and education to enhance the legal awareness and idea of the relevant subjects. Establish sports arbitration system, improving relief mechanisms of the athlete rights. By law establish professional players unions and carry out collective consultation and labor contract system. Efforts to promote the coordinated development of soccer promoter industry; Accelerate development of the athletes social security system and sports business insurance system. Establish health records and medical association of the professional athletes.
