Study On Influencing Factors And Controlling Model Of The Undergraduate Thesis Quality Of Health Service Management

Objectives: First, to analyze the influencing factors and formulate the control mechanism about the quality by studying the undergraduate papers of heath service management in the last three years. Second, to propose the controlling model of undergraduate theses, drawl model pattern and design working ways of it, which will be used to improve the qualities of the students'papers and give reference for the construction of teaching-quality projects.Methods: Literature review, group discussion, expert consultation and questionnaire investigation were the major methods used in this project. Two kinds of questionnaire including text elements of undergraduate thesis and influential factors of undergraduate thesis quality in health service management based on expert consultation were designed, which is including the text elements of undergraduate thesis in health service management, paper level and influential factors. 205 undergraduate theses and 139 college graduates of 2007~2009 in health service management from School of Health Management of Medical University were surveyed by research. Moreover, the methods of descriptive statistics analysis and path analysis were applied to analyze the data.Results:â‘ The highest score of all 205 undergraduate theses in health service management was 98, the lowest score of them was 60, and the average score was 80.1. The owning rate of title, abstract and key words was 93.7%, 96.1%, 94.1%, respectively. The owning rate of review, questionnaire, data analysis and statistical chart was 48.8%, 4.4%, 7.3% and 10.2%, respectively.â‘¡The rate of"understanding writing process","becoming familiar with the writing demand"and"taken part in writing program"of all 139 undergraduates in health service management was 43.9%, 59.7% and 10.8%, respectively. The rate of"got teacher guides","rewriting"and"external literatures consulting"was 58.3%, 64.7%and 25.9%, respectively. It took 4 days to 4 weeks to finish their theses among 74.1% of undergraduate theses."Responding is helping to improve the quality of thesis"were thought among 65.5% of undergraduate theses."Writing attitude is conscientious"were thought among 71.2% of undergraduate theses.â‘¢Path analysis studies indicated that the most influence factor on thesis quality was prepareing time, whose direct effect value was 1.081. Others were rewriting, reference rate and external literatures consulting, respectively. Teacher's guides had direct influence and indirect influence on thesis quality. Writing recognition and attitude had indirect effect.â‘£Based on qualitative and quantitative research, control model of undergraduate thesis and working steps in health service management were proposed .The pattern was drawled. There were three stages of writing thesis in the model, included write training, writing mobilization, selecting topic, opening report, carrying out, composing, oral defensing, grading and filing. Key point was designed in each section.Conclusions:â‘ There is a new departure to analyze the factors of quality of undergraduate thesis in health service management using path analysis.â‘¡Positive attitude, strong writing abilty and efficient supervision system are help to improve the qualities of the undergraduate thesis. â‘¢Designing control model of undergraduate thesis and definiting working steps in health service management are useful to improve the qualities of the undergraduate thesis of the major.
