The courses that school opens and society as well as the learners's relationship is the first question to be solved of the curriculum building.Well,How to do well the curriculum building is the core issue of the educational reform and development in information society.What does the curriculum building finally build? If we treat the curriculum,society and the learners as a whole to analyze ,we will easily find that what the society and the learns mapping on the the curriculum are right the curriculum's educational functions,exactly the right educational functions of the curriculum that promote the curriculum building's developing direction. In information society,the courses that school opens should suit for the society's development requirement and the learners'practical learning needs. Ignore the curriculum's educational functions and purely talk about the curriculum reform and the educational reform .It has no difference with the blind men touching an elephant and finally could not achieve the sustainable development of education.Our country has little research in the information technology course's educational functions in middle school,while information technology course as the manifest curriculum in the information society,if we can make sure the information technology course's educational functions objectively and fairly,it will play a vital role in promoting our country's education informationization. Considering the ICT curriculum system completely in British secondary school , since the beginning of the 21st century ,the Britain basic education informatization construction makes great achievements. The ICT curriculum construction has already entered the track of sustainable and benign development,its development pattern is followed by many countries, the author chooses the ICT curriculum as the research object and emphasises on discussing its educational functions with hoping to reveal the basic law in the British secondary school ICT curriculum construction.In this passage,the author first make a comb about the history of the British secondary school ICT curriculum,mainly including three aspects,the first is the evolution of names and its evolution explicates that the educational functions of ICT curriculum are gradually clear and the British educational circles is identified with it; the second is the evolution of content System,this is the necessary outcome of the evolution of names;the third is the evolution characteristics'description. This part is the breakthrough point of this thesis and it is the facts of discussing educational functions of ICT curriculum in British secondary school.Next,we analyse from the two aspects of the educational functions of ICT curriculum in British secondary school,the first the individual functions of ICT curriculum in British secondary school. We excavating the educational value of ICT curriculum from the learners'angle,mainly including the bring up function and the occupational function of ICT curriculum,the two functions treat the learners as developing persons, among them the occupational function makes the learners at the stage of society, achieving the butt joints of ICT curriculum,learners and society; the second is the social function of ICT curriculum in British secondary school,mainly discussing the three dimensions of politics,economy and culture, any course's appearances and developments are the product of social development, in a sense, the development of man is also the product of social development, nothing more than the man's subjective initiative can affect the development of society, the ICT curriculum in British secondary school are no exception. Based on the situation in the UK and analysis the social value of ICT curriculum deeply ,fixed the social factors of ICT curriculum's existence and development and finally reveals the ICT curriculum's social function in current British secondary school. Finally we evaluate objectively about the ICT curriculum's educational functions in British secondary school,mainly explain the two aspects of positive aspects and deficiencies ,hoping to provide salutary lesson to the the construction of middle school information technology in our country.
