Academy, or Shuyuan, which was formed since Tang and Song dynasty, is an outstanding teaching and studying institution and enjoys a distinctive educational culture organization system, with a bright history of over one thousand years, that is always viewed as the most precious achievement of the Chinese education development. The Academy is an very important assistance and necessary complement. There are various Academies all over our nation, up to over 7000, among which there are no less than 400 remains as schools, libraries, and museums. Thousands of scholars who have made great achievemes have been gratulated from those ancient Academy.The author analyses the development and features of ancient Academy with various research methods,and finally suggests that the modern higher vocational college revolution has got a lot to learn from the ancient Academy education system, ranging from tradition to experience, and from basic theories to teaching and managing system. The vocational education could find a better and better way to further development, only if it keeps open-up to all the advanced experience and precious teaching theories. That will finnally make the vocational education a vital force in the educational work of China.
